How do I get onto Bright Lights Agency?

• To join Bright Lights Agency, we carefully consider each applicant based on their talent, potential, and experience. We are always looking for performers who show promise and are committed to developing their skills

 

Do I need professional headshots?

• As part of the process of joining a professional agency, performers are required to have professional photographs. There is a fee for a photographer to take a selection of images, from which we will choose the best ones to for your profile as your agent. You will also receive the selected headshots to keep for your personal use. Having high-quality, professional photos is essential, as Casting Directors will often review these before requesting a self tape or meeting with a performer in person.

What is Spotlight?

• Spotlight is the leading casting database used by industry professionals to find talent for TV commercials,films, and other entertainment projects. Casting directors use this platform to search for performers who match specific roles, while we actively browse casting calls to find the best opportunities for our clients.  When we identify a suitable role, we submit our clients for consideration. If a casting director is interested, they will review the performer's profile and may invite them to audition. In some cases, open auditions are posted, allowing us to put forward a selection of talented individuals who we believe are a great fit.

What happens if you get a self-tape?

• A self-tape is an important part of the audition process and it's often the first step in being considered for a role. When asked to do a self-tape,  you will be provided with the script or scene, along with any specific instructions, including the style, tone, and character. It’s essential to follow the guidelines carefully, ensuring the lighting is good and the video is clear. You should perform the scene as naturally as possible, focusing on your character’s emotions and reactions. Once recorded, the video will need to submitted by the given deadline.
